Home » I Want Shade On My Patio
A patio is often the most-used part of a garden — until the sun makes it uncomfortable. Without any form of overhead shading, direct summer sun can make a seating or dining area unusable for large parts of the day, particularly between late morning and early evening when the sun is at its highest and most intense..
The right fix depends on what you actually want from the space. Some people just want relief from direct sun on bright days. Others want a patio that can be used properly whatever the weather — sun, light rain, or an unexpected shower — without having to dash indoors.
A Weinor PergoTex II, Plaza Viva or Sottezza II gives you a retractable solid roof rather than fabric alone. These cost more than a fabric awning but mean the space stays usable even in a shower, and several can be finished with LED lighting and optional heating for evening use.
The Weinor Topas is our entry-level open awning. It gives effective sun protection without the cost of a cassette or roof system, and is a sensible starting point if you want to see how much a shaded patio changes how you use the space before investing further.
Projection (how far the awning needs to reach out from the wall) and width both affect cost and which model fits, and these depend on the shape and size of your patio and where the sun sits relative to it through the day. We won’t guess this from a photo — a home survey lets us measure accurately and show you fabric and colour samples against your own property.
